About the Filmmaker

Jake Hawley was born in 1979 in Muscatine, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.F.A. in Intermedia Arts. He also studied animation at the University of Wolverhampton in England.

The initial idea for this film came about when he learned that his grandfather, Otto Parker, was to be apart of the Honor Tour. He wanted to know more about his grandfather's experiences in WWII and to learn about this organization that was helping veterans travel to Washington DC.

He currently lives and works in San Francisco where he spends most of his time creating animations, film making, riding his bike and not eating enough vegetables.
